The only national, nonprofit organization working on behalf of all trail interests, including hiking, bicycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, water trails, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, trail motorcycling, ATVs, snowmobiling and four-wheeling.
- Australian Bicycle Council
The Australian Bicycle Council is the national body that manages and coordinates implementation of The Australian National Cycling Strategy 2005 - 2010.

The Local Government Commission is a non-profit organization based in California that works to build livable communities. LGC with a variety of national sponsors hosts the annual New Partners for Smart Growth conference which travels around the United States.
- National Bicycle Safety Network
This group is administered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Its mission is to enhance the opportunities for spreading educational messages and information to other professionals and to the general public about bicycle safety.

An organization whose mission is to create bicycle-friendly and walkable communities.
- National Center for Safe Routes to School
Assists communities in enabling and encouraging children to safely walk and bike to school.
- National Center for Safe Routes to School Task Force
The Task Force will study and develop a strategy for advancing Safe Routes to School programs nationwide and will be responsible for submitting to the U.S. DOT Secretary a report for Congress detailing the results of their work. Michael King is APBP's representative.

- National Transportation Enhancements Clearinghouse
The National Transportation Enhancements Clearinghouse is an information service sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration and Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. It works to provide professionals, policy makers, and citizens with timely and accurate information and technical assistance regarding the Transportation Enhancements program, which since 1991 has been the single largest source of funding for bicycle and pedestrian projects in the United States.
