Incorporating Public Art into Transportation Corridors

Join APBP for this webinar focusing on the role of art and integrating art into transportation corridors. Caroline will discuss the 606 in Chicago and how this one-of-a-kind park and trail has made a name for itself in Chicago—connecting neighborhoods and transforming the commute for pedestrians and cyclists who can now travel for nearly three miles above traffic. Carolyn will discuss how they were able to plan for and fund the installation of the art work in the trail corridor. In addition, Lisa will focus on placemaking on a transportation corridor by showcasing work on the Midtown Greenway and the Nicollet Mall project.

Presenters:

Caroline O’Boyle, Trust for Public Land
Lisa Middag, Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District

Continuing Education Credits: APBP will provide an attendance certificate to those who document their professional development hours; each 60-minute webinar provides one hour of training (.1 CEU). APBP applies to the AICP for Certification Maintenance credit for each webinar.

All webinars will be recorded for later viewing. The fee to purchase a site license is $50 for APBP members, $85 for non-APBP members. Each site license includes one phone connection (toll charges apply, or use VoIP), one Internet connection, one set of handouts for unlimited attendees in the same location, and access to the recording.
