The APBP Board members have elected their new leaders that will guide the organization in 2019. Please congratulate and welcome your new APBP Officers:

President - Jessica Roberts, Portland, OR
Vice-President – Amanda Leahy, Oakland, CA
Treasurer - Byron Rushing, Atlanta, GA
Secretary - Alison Moss, San Diego, CA

A Message From The President

It's an honor to accept the baton of APBP board president from Byron Rushing, who has given us exceptional leadership for the past 2 years. Our entire board is a snapshot of the industry's excellence, bringing insights from different disciplines and geographies. Thank you to Byron and all of our board members for their service.

Last year was a terrific year of deepening APBP's offerings for our members. Some major accomplishments included updating our mission statement, launching a new website, and issuing thoughtful policy statements on AVs, Complete Streets, Vision Zero and e-bikes. I'm especially proud of our new online Community (list serve), where spirited conversations are happening constantly about policy, infrastructure, geometric design, accessibility, funding, and so much more.

Looking ahead, 2019 promises to be very exciting for APBP. We hope you will join us in Portland for the APBP Conference from August 25-28. I can't reveal the details, but the mobile tours and social committee in particular are cooking up some really exciting offerings you won't want to miss. (And let me know if you need any restaurant recommendations!)

Other major initiatives include are increasing our connection with local chapters, continuing our work on policy statements, and building our membership throughout North America (with a special welcome to our 22 new Canadian members from last year!).

I hope you'll reach out to me in 2019 to let me know what APBP means to you, and how we can best help you realize your professional goals and dreams.

Jessica Roberts, APBP President
